DKUK and Acid Prawn at Glasgow International

DKUK has teamed up with Acid Prawn, a performative fashion label by Sian Dorrer, to create an installation called Mall Parade. At DKUK clients get their hair cut while they look at art, changing their outward appearance to express their inner selves. Acid Prawn makes costumes for or from performances and in doing this explores the symbolism we employ to reveal our personal identity. Here at The Savoy Centre DKUK and Acid Prawn staged an outlandish fashion show, looking behind the consumerist fantasy to question notions of identity, self-promotion and consumerism. The show was filmed and is on display here along with the garments made specifically for the parade these can be purchased through the website www.acidprawn.com.
