Hours of Work: Wednesday – Friday 9:30am-8:15pm, Salary: £10.75 per hour (London living wage)
Term: 12 month contract
Holidays: 17 day (5.6 weeks)

At DKUK our clients experience art whilst receiving excellent haircuts, colours and scalp treatments. DKUK exists as an accessible space in which viewing and discussing art is commonplace. We support artists by commissioning works and training them as hairdressers. From this DKUK is growing to be among the most creative hairdressing companies in the sector.
To oversee the smooth running of our studio (hair salon and gallery), we are recruiting a Studio Manager. The candidate must be highly organised, proactive and have good communication skills. We are open to applicants from all ethnic backgrounds however we particularly encourage applicants from Black Asian and Ethnic minorities and those who have grown up in Southwark.
Responsibilities include:
Management
– Smooth running of hair salon – Filing salon KPI’s
-Staff holidays
-Marketing management -Book keeping on Xero -Liaising with Accountant -Paying bills
-Health and safety
-Website maintenance
Front of house
– Taking customer bills
– Welcoming clients
– Maintaining stock levels – Cash handling
– Phone calls
– Salon software (training given)
– Social media
– Ensuring salon is kept clean and tidy at all times -day to day assisting the director
Person Specification (skills and experience):
– Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise workload – Friendly and professional manner
– Experience working with the public
– Excellent administration skills and attention to detail
– Experience using social media platforms – Interested in art and hairdressing -Collaborative approach to working
-Can do’/’will do’ attitude
-Good telephone manner
-Meticulous attention to detail
-2 years experience in equivalent administrative role
There may be the possibility of turning the role into a full time position in 9-12 months with additional duties being added to manage the exhibition program
