A Crit group of Hair and Art.

One Way Can Be The Other Way is an open group discussion looking at the work of two artists and two hairdressers. The format of the event follows a traditional informal crit group; each artist/hairdresser will display their work which will in turn be critiqued by the group – you are invited to discuss how the work is made, associations, reactions, references and comments – it is an open group and all are welcome to contribute.

The event explores how the language used during one situation might be extended and used during another. The work also opens up a discussion around why and how we draw lines between different creative acts.

Each crit will start with a ‘Word Tickle’ [a technique originated at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago] during which members of the group are invited to respond with single words in reaction to the work presented. Following this we will open up the conversation and have time for questions to and from the presenting artists and hairdressers.
